That's Not a Batacuda!! (NDA Lifted)

YARR!!
I've been weaving through, bumping around in, climbing over, and most importantly have been surrounded by NEWS!! Yes, the Pirate101 NDA has been LIFTED!
Today, One-eyed Jack said THIS:

"Hello Pirate101 fans!

I’m here to announce the NDA on Pirate101 Beta has been officially lifted. This means that you may now freely talk about the game without any worries. If you’re in the Pirate101 Beta, feel free to share pictures, talk about your characters, and discuss the game to the fullest. Your exciting reviews of Pirate101 continue to make us feel we have an exceptional game on our hands.

As a note, please keep in mind that Pirate101 is still in its Beta stage of production. Be aware that things are still subject to change while discussing Pirate101. If you play in the Beta, you will definitely still run into bugs and will still find there are some balance issues with the game that are not perfect yet. If Pirate101 was a bug free product at this time, we’d be launching the game today!

Keep up the good work, Beta testers! Please continue to provide us with your excellent feedback and stay positive despite the balance issues. You may find yourself frustrated at points while you play through the beta and encounter content that is either too easy or too difficult, but be assured that we are listening and will provide you with an excellent game when Pirate101 is released. SO, I'm going to give you guys a picture or two (actually three), just to start things off real quick. IF you do not want any spoilers or anything of the like, don't click "Read More" and simply continue with whatever you were doing before.
Thank you!

To start things off, this is RDR  - Ruthless Destiny Rackham, level 6 swashbuckler! I've been in beta for (what) a few days now and am sailing through the Skull Island Skyway like a noob ...well, a level 5 swashbuckler on a raft! I've been training companions (Sara Steel, Bonnie Anne, and Subodai), collecting slashy/stabby weapons, and battling simply like crazy! Once you start, you don't want to stop - the battleboard is really too much fun
to mess around with and play on. However, I do die quite a bit - luckily, my companions can still be controlled while I stand there with stars over my head. When I'm alive, my strategy is to hit one enemy at a time, with full force. Normally, if Sara, Bonnie, and I all hit one enemy, and one of us hits (slo-mo) critical then we can move on to the next enemy. If not, then I stay behind to take care of the first (whatever) while letting the others move on.

Actually, I've had a few funny instances in battle - like when I thought I was lagging, but the system simply wouldn't let me battle, and I had to stand there while letting a few cutthroat sharks beat me up. I saved a few of my friends and (being me) got lost in the Skyway several times. ("That's not a batacuda!! AAAHHH!!") All in all, I'm very pleased by this game, and might even transfer from Wizard101 to it if I have to make the decision.

Well, that's the scoop from me!

  1. Destiyn sense the NDA was lifted can you answer this question, what is the green circle for next to the health of the ship in the lower right hand corner of the third picture?

  2. Hey Cass, I'm not so sure what it is, thought I;m thinking that it's fuel. There is a fuel merchant in Jonah Town. Someone else would probably know better, though.
